is the prada man so different from the prada woman this season? with all those studded pieces, i think not.
I agree 100%. I do like some structure with ad campaigns also. Why two completely different campaigns? Did someone convince her somehow that the mens and womens markets are so different than each other that there is a need for two completely different ad campaigns? If so, she is mistaken. Prada is Prada. These Hedi Slimane/Dior Homme imitations of b/w ad campaigns are getting boring and repetitive.

That said, I LOVE THESE SHOTS! The second one is absolutely fantastic. Yes, the model has a larger-than-most nose, but Prada models are never known for their great beauties to begin with. Especially men. Even Eddie Klint looks like an exotic bird from certain angles. So he has a big nose: it is great I think to see someone with a bit of an edge.

Nobody is complaining when we see Gisele's horn of a nose and huge jawline that could break walnuts... This is modeling, be a little open-minded. Look at Erin O'Connor: perhaps one of the greatest models ever lived with a very large nose. Look at Bruna's nose, Natasha Poly's jawline, Hilary Rhoda's chin, MariaCarla's eyes... Look at David Gandy. The guy is perfect, but his large nose looks like it has been through hell and back. I wonder how he breathes. That said, he would look not as perfect with Mat Gordon's nose for instance. Look at Jon K's nostrils: you can see his brain through those things... even those pretty boys aren't flawless. Not everyone is Christy Turlington.

This isn't Gianni Versace with his ever-so-perfect boys. The guy is fine.

the guy is so cute! i dont know whats so wrong about his nose

and i like it much more than last seasons ad. and i agree, i dont really associate with this prada man lensed by hedi, first we get the whole dramatic PRADA look on the runway and the campaign turns out like this... why dont they let hedi do the show with his concepts and castings as well?

and i would prefer the ad to be in color.

but for the moment, this campain is a BIG let-down to me - comparing to last season campain (which I can't repeat enough was ONE OF THE BEST campain of SS 2009 !)
i'd rather one great campaign unifiying the two. i think of the meisel campaign on the beach.

indeed that is better !
- i thought you were talking about a 'fake'-couple ad campaign

but this one like some others (Hannelore under the snow) are good ones 'couple-campain' ... and both collections shared a similar story-board.

because though they are some common points btw FW09.10 menswear and womenswear, i still think it's not something that can make a couple ...

so a 'couple' campain doesn't make sense to me ...

and it's like a new era for Prada ... she always did a story-board ! and then it disappeared (it was really bad when Linda features recently !) ...

...

waiting for a shoe shot, now ...
the previous disappoints !

anyway the fact she's chosen to shoot with 2 different photographers makes enough sense, imo ...

similar story board? maybe not. however, in reality, these clothes do share a through line. i feel like her two campaigns lack vision where just a little more focus may have come up with one great message for the season -- for men and women -- instead of none.

they both had a spare palette, they both used the studded detail, they both involved structure. it's not hard to imagine the women in those pieces appearing in this stark campaign or the men in those pieces appearing in the psychedelic womens' advertising push.

- i know my english is bad, but still -

you quote something that has nothing to do with what you wrote ...

you should have quote that :

oh and have you thought maybe men are now enough a target - and therefore needs a different vision, they're worth a seperated campain ?

p.s : to me womenswear and menswear didn't share the same storyboard (on contrary beach + hannelore collections - what you quote and obviously what i did type wrongly)... womenswear was pretty primitive, menswear was urban-edgy ... eventhough they share strong relationships.

And my opinion still remains.
There have been worst comments about models around here

so far it's definitely not as good as the previous campaign with the simonon brothers, and i don't like the first shot, but the group one is quite nice, even though i don't find the models attractive.
