Actor Michael Pitt is re-modelled as a Golden Age of Hollywood studio icon in this striking series of performative portraits for Prada’s spring/summer menswear campaign.The brooding star of Martin Scorsese’s prohibition-era television epic Boardwalk Empire and Bernardo Bertolucci’s The Dreamers explores the language of male role models from the rock star to the playboy, from the self-reflective introvert to the engaging and humorous farceur.
These cinematic codes are revealed as the many sides and moods of Michael Pitt as well as the many aspects of men living in a post-modern period of extended leisure and work culture. Contemporary men work when they play and play when they work – the boundaries are no longer clear – as the campaign’s simple props and gestures emphasise.
Shot by world-renowned fashion and portrait photographer David Sims, the images are presented in rich tones and deeply saturated colours echoing 1950s studio portraiture, and subtly referencing the celluloid iconography of the Prada spring/summer womenswear campaign.

imo the pictures are awful, what´s up with his expressions?! it´s a nice concept poorly executed, can´t believe it´s shot by Sims...
BUT I love Michael so I´m glad he´s got the campaign

i'm so shock they chose actor again after spiderman. thought it gonna be another models fiesta. the pics looks boring. why dont they make the same concept with the womenswear campaign..

I like Michael Pitt but I am sorry I don't like this campaign, this should be more for an editorial or something of that sort.

Seriously? Again with the actors? Never understood the appeal of Michael Pitt either.

Benjamin Eidem would have been perfect for this collection. Given the nature of the collection, they could have done so much with the campaign. I don't understand why Prada always cops out.

I like David Sims, but he isn't right for Prada. They could have had at least used Willy and the result would have been far better.

What a waste.

it looks like an editorial not hating it but not crazy about it too, at least it;s better than last season's campaign with Tobey Maguire
