I think she looks rather bad Awful campaign overall, hope she's not in the Prada cast

Exactly. She's not supposed to look "fierce" or whatever, which would've been the easy way out. And it's a very simple, static concept (it's just resort, come on), she didn't get much to work with.

Cracks me up when people complain about Ymre's "weak print work". Girl barely has any proper tests in her book, let alone actual editorial tears. This was pretty much her first real job.

Still, the campaign isn't exactly what I hoped for. A somewhat unfortunate first outing.

I have to agree. I think she looks gorgeous in person but for some reason it didn't quite work out for her in this campaign. She is a newbie so I still have high hopes for her

^ that's precisely why I don't like it: you know there's a problem when you read "ghetto fab" in a Prada ad campaign thread...

But it's not like the ads, clothes, bags or styling are even remotely ghetto fab. It's just the nails (which I love).

^ Oh no sorry, I should have said "this is precisely part of why"
The bags are just plain hideous... And Ymre looks like a corpse... I really want to like her but I'm a little worried about the Prada SS09 ads now...

Well, I thought the cruise collection looked cheap and awful. Ymre is the only expensive looking thing here although those low-end bags are doing their best to bring her down. (You need Daria-level power to fight this kind of assault (see Vogue Nippon January 2009 cover).)

i'm sorry to disagree with you, but the Resort collection was one of the best things i've seen from Miuccia in a long time. nothing strange, nothing awkward, nothing "unhealthy" looking. just nice, wearable clothes with a Prada flair to it.

you know, there used to be a time when Prada wasn't about "strange", but just simple, clean lines and wearable clothes.

I taught I might like this when I more shots, but I didn't... Her face or maybe just expression annoys me...

Oh, you don't have to feel sorry about it, even if only for politeness' sake . In any case I don't equate strange with expensive and simple with cheap. There lots of brands peddling cheap-looking frou frou.
