I'm actually really let down.

It's not that it's a bad shot, but given the collection it's just so...I dunno. Is it possible to be both unexpected and predictable at the same time?

I really liked the collection, it was the best thing he's done in so long. There was such a strong mood, a powerful look that could've yielded a great campaign. But the whole nightclub, party, life of leisure thing is too easy.

Karen Elso just about looks perfect. Everything about her screams sexy high fashion. I love the situational mood to the ad. Like they're all in the middle of something really juicy. As if Clement just told them a really big juicy piece of gossip and Karen is shocked and Isabeli is laughing her guts out while putting on makeup.

Truth be told, I like the image posted on #16 a lot more than this seasons camppaign.

Zebra print really needs to be handled carefully and with finesse. The Meisel pic is kind of crude, and I cannot help but thinking the pic would have improved so much without that hideous print overshadowing everything else in the image.

When I first saw Isabeli, I thought she was doing drugs in the pic... (you know the party/club scene depicted here, the whole Euro-trashness etc.) I still think there may be some subtle meaning behind her gesture. I am not a fan. Meisel is a good direction, but I would have preferred to see a pic that shows -or shows off- clothes for an ad campaign, rather than some random 'screencap'.

Then again, lately Cavalli ad campaigns have mostly been quite terrible, even though they hire some of the best girls in the biz.
