This is so redundant! We've seen this exact aesthetic from Hedi before, ten million times before! His shoot with Kate Moss was far more accomplished and convincing than this.
Besides, Anja's Saint Laurent shots were much better. That one shot in the tuxedo alone by far surpassed the mediocrity of this campaign. Anja's SL shoot contained a perfect balance between Yves and Hedi; chic, Parisian but with a touch of 'rock' (or whatever Hedi's aesthetic is). My problem with this campaign is that it is too much Hedi Slimane and not enough Yves Saint Laurent. At least Pilati had a respect towards the imagery and the historicism of the house. Slimane is all about his own aesthetic and not so much about the house. He thinks he is bigger than the house, and I predict this will be a problem that YSL will never overcome.
