The generic-looking men and their cheap styling totally drag an otherwise strong campaign down. Men like Marlon Teixiera and Jesus Luz would be my choice.

(Joan's usual Stepford Wife one-expression perfectly suits the titillating, eeriness of this shoot.)

Lol, that's her 'fierce' face! You're right, she's tolerable in this.

The men however makes it look like a Jimmy Choo campaign.

^^^ It’s so weird to me that so many so-called casting agents are so incompetent when it comes to casting, in particular for Tom Ford… The guys here— and Carine’s styling for them, is more Express or any given cheapo fast-fashion. Jimmy Choo is too kind, Benn.

LOVE this. It's a total surprise to see something so bold and elevated given the perfectly fine but not particularly memorable campaigns that have made up the bulk of Tom's fashion campaign output. This really has that feeling of campaigns in the '90s and early '00s when they become almost editorial in tone. It's chic, it's creepy, it's humorous, it's sexy in that cold, removed sort of way that made Tom's Gucci ads so hot yet so cool. I'm obsessed with the fact that Karen is holding a flip phone in that shot where she's yelling at the stoned/dead guy, and that there's a Tesla charger right next to a parked Rolls Royce in the shot with Joan in the garage. That's some subtle, but really clever and funny, detail.

My only quibble would be the shots where Joan and Karen are covering themselves with the bags. It's not a prudish "how dare they?!" thing at all. I just feel like it's a little too commercial to do the nude-but-not-really thing. I would have rather seen them carrying the bags naturally while topless, which would have lent the shots a much weirder, much chicer energy, or even would've preferred them fully dressed in something really standout.

What a way to end this underwhelming campaign season... This is incredible. Typical Steven Klein that works so well with Tom Ford. A joy to see something so good these days.

A little bit of a mess but I like it! It's refreshing. Who are the other models apart from Joan?

I absolutely love this! The other models besides Joan Smalls are Karen Elson, Imari Karanja, Adam Senn and Fernando Cabral.

Love this campaign. This could've easily looked like an editorial but there's an advertising oomph that pops. There's a narrative without it overtaking. Great collaboration. I also really like the first shot and the one in the pool.
