Going thru all this thread brought back so many fond memories. Reflecting on the days when Gianni was in control. One thing I've noticed is that Donatella has not used a model of color in the campagin since Gianni passed away.
You would think that when she cast models like Kate, Linda, Christy, Amber, Gisele, that she would inculde Naomi being that Naomi was a true, loyal friend and muse of Gianni. The only face of color to be featured since Gianni's death was an actress; Halle Berry. Gianni passed awy over a decade ago and Naomi nor any other Black model for that matter has been cast. I believe since gianni's death the house has definitely lost some of its IT FACTOR but refraining from using black models in advertising is just an OUTRAGE considering the black & HipHop culture help catapult Versace into mainstream media. Gianni used Naomi every season to walk the show and frequent the campaign so if Donatella wanna stay true to the Versace DNA then she need to get with the program. Versace without Naomi is just plain garments in a glossy publication!
