tadaoto, yositoshi, fini, beksinski, fuyuko, etc are some other names that come to mind now though personally I'd like to call it aberration or turbidity.

there is when those who usually don't do it do it. that's when I like it best.
for instance, shinsen's "mad woman" ( word-for-word translation of 狂女 ), shoen's "flame"...

^ I love the first attachment. I really like art that is not classically considered beautiful because it is so much more intriguing and has a lot more depth.

The Scream by Munch, on the first page of the thread, sold at a recent auction for $119. 9 million!

An interesting use of a stocking. Dutch artist Rosa Verloop has created these fantastic nylon sculptures, where she has taken common stockings and molded. folded, squeezed, and created interesting, layered facial structures. She uses regular pins to keep the stockings in the shape of a facial structure. (via designboom)

^ bellmer is among my absolute favourite artists cause his works (especially up close, in real life) are probably the only ones who actually frighten/move me in a deep way. his sculptures are truly intense.

Yes, absolutely multidisciplinary. He wasn't only a good sculptor, creating those great sculptures which actually are his surrealist models. I think that the real motivation, It was taking amazing surrealist photographs. Those pictures can tell us the ugliest poems of the Universe.
