Amazing images... after looking at handmade paper and bamboo in searching for something to contribute to this beautiful thread, I came across this "lamp" house for a different spin on lighting.

This building in Puerto Rico is called "hooch" by the owner.
The bamboo construction is put up on an existing concrete base with cesstank and is used like a bedroom. Sun collectors on the roof produce current for a ventilator and a small lamp.

i love lighting, it's my favourite part of interiors. i fired an architect after he tried to force me to put recessed lights into my flat and get rid of all the pendant lights we were never going to agree on anything!
Just started a thread on Aqua Creations and decided to copy some of the posts here because the lighting is so cool
They've got TONS of amazing stuff on their website, so it's definitely worth checking out...

Designed in 1950 by a French machinist named Jean-Louis Domecq, the Jieldé lamp — long considered a classic — is getting an update. Last year, the company introduced a smaller, desk-friendly version of the multijointed metal lamp, which is still assembled by hand. And in September, all the Jieldé lamps — both small and standard-size — will be available in three new eye-popping colors: fluorescent pink, red and orange. (Jieldé lamps sell for $250 to $1,100; the Loft series fixtures shown at left are $902 each.) Those who can’t wait until September can order now, by sending an e-mail to jielde@notonqueen.com. A list of retailers who will carry the lamps in the fall is at notonqueen.com. MILENA DAMJANOV
