I love this thread so much, now I miss being a kid. I think I'm going to have to go thrift store hunting to recapture some creepy childhood memories.

These from Lisbeth Zwerger are lovely. Thumbeline

I can't remember so much from the books in my childhood, which is strange. I really enjoy this thread - thanks once again Anna - and browsing through all the illustrations.

Warwick Goble, I like the Asian aspects

Däumelinchen, the sound suits it

I rather like Arthur Rackham's illustrations too. All the little details and looming sceneries, very pretty.

This is a great thread! Here are some of my favourites:

J. Otto Seibold is the illustrator, he is also one of the illustrators for "Olive the Other Raindeer".

Jeffrey Fulvimari is the illustrator of this book by Madonna.

with illustrations by David Catrow

It's funny, I can't remember either, but seeing an illustration or hearing a title name conjures up a warm, fuzzy and slightly hazy feeling inside.
