where do you guys get these sketches? I'm trying to improve my sketching and illustrating skills and think it would help to have some of these.

Like I said when I worke at my last I did all my sample packages in Illustrator and sent them via e-mail to the factories. I am really happy I learned it.

^They kind of do! (I thought that the woman on the right in the last picture was just a very lithe man...)

This is sort of off topic, but does anyone know want kind of markers they use for these sketches...
obviously each artist can use whatever medium they feel like to convey their ideas better...
but don't they "usually" use gouache or some sort of marker/pens?

any help would be great!

You're all welcome! I wasn't around for Gianni's stuff either, but looking back at his stuff: I'm so intrigued!

dashphire I read somewhere on the forum it's called Pantone markers...
But illustrators and graphic designers also use other brands, like Prismacolor and maybe others. Some markers come with 3 tips each, different sizes

Here's a discussion about it at Deviantart :p
http://forum.deviantart.com/gallerie...tional/261666/

But yeah I think it is traditional to use gouache
We use gouache in textile design
It's because the colours in gouache match the dyes for fabrics best (compared to acrylic, etc. which yield a little bit different tones and shades)
