here is where Mr.Yves Saint Laurent escapes, used to prepare his sketches & get inspired:

Majorelle Garden

Majorelle Garden, Marrakech, Morocco

The Majorelle Garden is a botanical garden in Marrakech, Morocco. It was designed by the expatriate French artist Jacques Majorelle in 1924, during the colonial period when Morocco was occupied by France. Though Majorelle's art is largely forgotten today -- his oeuvre was made up of gentlemanly orientalist watercolors -- the garden he created is his creative masterpiece. A special shade of bold cobalt blue which he used extensively in the garden and its buildings is named after him, Majorelle bleu.
Since 1947 the carden is open to te public. Since 1980 the garden has been owned by Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé.
The garden also houses the Islamic Art Museum of Marrakech, whose collection includes North African textiles from Saint-Laurent's personal collection as well as ceramics, jewelry, and paintings by Majorelle.

looking at this makes me so longing for my architecture-book at home, and the architecture classes was my least favorite ones (mainly because of all the old architecture, I prefer modern..but there certainly are great old architecture.. any favorites?

I'll search for my favorite one of the louvre, it's a beautiful one taken at night, and the contrast between the glass pyramid (the fragility's total contradiction toward the orginial pyramids) which is so modern set against the old Louvre-buildings..aaah it looks so great.

I must say Morroccan architectures (for home) is one of my favorite next to minimalism.

ALL the pictures here are breathtaking!

I'd like to add another version of architecture which is intresting & important in each house & city: 'LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE'

I admire the work of MARTHA SCHWARTZ, she has a great sense of humor in her designs with innovative truly artistic touches in using new 'economical' materials beside plants.

the only project that I have experinced was the EXCHANGE SQ. in Manchester-UK...worth visiting, her designs spread in the USA, JAPAN & EUROPE...

Jacob Javitz Federal Building East Plaza / 26 Federal Plaza

Minneapolis Courthouse

Gifu Kitagata Apartments

Miami International Airport Sound Barrier

Spoleto Festival Art Installation

Whitehead Institute / "Splice Garden"

Exchange Square

pics from Harvard site where she teaches

Wow I always love you choices Taz!! Those buildings/landscapres look so surreal... almost like paintings or drafts of what the building is going to look like
