I just did a 25 page paper on Ernst. Interesting fellow.

I'm not really into traditional artists. I find them to be... out of touch with my life. I don't use oils, don't like paintings of people, dont like landscapes at all. But I don't fund myself into an abstractionalist persuasion either. I like works that give me a jolt.

Dana Schutz

Ghada Amer - kind of mainstream, but cool nevertheless.

Pat Steir (only her older style, her new stuff doesn't appeal to me. She's very well-regarded in the art world right now.)

How cool, that'd be interesting to see!

Escher made very interesting paintings, unfortunately I don;t have any to show you. I'll see if I can google some.

I'm sure everybody has seen them once in their lives, they are famous.

He was more a sort of magician instead of a painter, the things he does to a simple paper.. unbelievable.

Wow, you all have such good taste!

My favourites are probably:
Caravaggio
Vermeer
Dali
Velazquez
Kahlo
Kandinsky
de Lempicka
Turner

But recently I've fallen in love with The Umbrellas by Renoir, an artist i've never really liked before

It seems like everybody loves Klimt and Schiele. That's good. I love them!
