Glad you guys liked Marrakech Xpress.. The parts I liked were not only the patterns on the wall but also the really squishy cushion on the longue-chaise.. and it mimicked in the loveseat
and I would love to have a room with a linoleum(?) floor like that. Actually does anyone know what it might be??? Parquet is also that shiny but in wood.. It doesn't look cold like linoleum.

It's like a bathroom

burnt colors / earthy browns mixed with more saturated ones..

Or maybe do the kind of 'Scandinavian style' that is featured so much in interior blogs .. white, mixed with a few bolds, and modern/vintage pieces mixed..
Yeah I'm still enamoured by rox_yr_sox's post on Philip Dixon #1074
Maybe you could try adding more rustic items with your colourful collection

or you can tone them down by covering it with sheer fabrics? lace, organza, tulle curtains.. over top of that patterned table
you can still see the pattern and colour through the transparent fabric but it's softer...

or transparent items

Hanne and gius, thank you so much! Moroccan/rustic items are right up my alley. I may need to do something about the pale yellow walls though, like changing them to earth or jewel tones.

earth tones.., I like the background of the avatar you have now.. It's like a sort of pseudo brown or grey ..and then a faint hint of mauve inside.

What a fantastic apartment! My favorite piece is the couch and pillows with all those gorgeous colors and patterns! I think it's often a good idea to buy a big investment piece, such as a couch, in a basic, solid color, such as white, and then you can change the fabrics of the pillows and accents to suite your liking at the moment, which is more affordable than getting a new couch every time you have a desire for something new and fresh.

Thanks, as always, for posting!

that parisian apartment is near perfection. not overly styled, and it actually looks like a person lives there.

i agree with what meg said earlier about mixing things because you're naturally drawn to them even if they don't seem to make sense with your current decor or the theme you're going for. sometimes things just catch our attention and you get more joy out of it than endlessly searching for the perfect piece that fits into what you THINK your space should look like.

^well said, thesiren. i think you shouldnt try too hard to make your home look stylish or extraordinary. otherwise it might end up looking like a museum or the showroom of a furnishing house..

i think sometimes everything you collect will match and complement each other in the end too^

you may find similarities in all the things you like
when you put them together
a theme, a colour,

Ok, so im going to move (again) to a studio appartment.
But i dont know what i should do, cause i love a big diningroom table.. love to sit with friends etc.. But i also want a normal bed, not a one person bed..and a place where i can sit and watch tv. But if i put in a double bed, a big diningroom table AND a sofa it wont fit.

HELP
