Was he influenced by it? because even though the movie is half-neorealism it is by Antonioni not Visconti

No, sorry, my bad, the documentary was on Visconti but also featured works of his contemporary Italian artists - Antonioni being one of them. God the film looks so beautiful! I really want to see it!

La Dolce Vita is one of my favorite fashion movies... a must see.
Loving the Veronica Lake stills, she is (always) utter perfection.
Just bought Red Desert this week and am so excited to watch it after seeing those stills!
