I absolutely love this thread, it's my new favorite. I just purchased my first polaroid camera after longing for one for a few years. My parents didn't get it, they're very into digital. Beyond the fact that it's instant, I find that polaroids just look softer and dreamier in general. I don't know, to me, they feel more personal. I was going through my mother's photos from her childhood and from her teenage years in the 70s (beyond jealous), and I just don't see those personal touches in digital. I also can't wait to get that Maripolarama book, I heard about it in Nylon.
Has anyone bought a sx70 camera from ebay? I am not sure if I can trust some of the prices, especially someone selling an sx70 camera for 25.00! There are so many options
Well, the SX-70's are cheap now because they stopped making film for them. Specically the Time Zero and the SX-70 film. The bright side is regular 600 and 779 film can be used, with a little patience and know how:
