Rinko Kawauchi Profile: Born in Shiga, Japan, in 1972. Graduated from Seian Junior College of Art and Design in 1993. She started her career as a photographer on freelance basis in 1997. In 2001 she simultaneously released a series of three photo books - "UTATANE" , "HANABI" and "HANAKO" from Little More, which created an overnight sensation in the photography world in Japan. In 2002, she was awarded the prestigious 27th Annual Kimura Ihei Award for two of the books, "UTATABE" and "HANABI". Funny you should say that Gius, she produced two particular books called Rinko Diary and Rinko Diary II, which I guess in a way is kind of finding those 'climatic moments' in everyday life

I must say, I am blown away at the consistency of feel and emotion with Rinko's pictures, despite content or subject matter or light conditions...there is always this feeling that is quite peaceful and assuring...her pictures are taken with such a loving eye...she searches for quietness in the moments that escape us daily. I admire that.
