Marni inaugurates Istanbul Boutique

DALLAS, Apr 14, 2008 / FW/ — Continuing its expansion in 2008, Marni inaugurates its first boutique in Turkey. Located in the charming 19th century environ of Akaretler, the stark modernity inside the Marni boutique is a counterpoint to the old world Istanbul, thus creating a symphony of beauty based on divergent elements.
Collaborating with the architects from Sybarite, Consuelo Castiglioni created a space that pulls the visitor through a narrative as he or she moves from room to room. Maintaining the original room volume while adding Marni’s signature style and looks, Castiglioni made the Istanbul boutique part of the new generation of Marni flagship store designs.

In the central main room, a stainless steel rail holds the MARNI collection curling around the perimeter of the store, repeating the shape of the steel step at the front. The focal point of this room is the floating mannequins that hang from the ceiling and are moved by fans.
Aged teak floors, textural and unfinished-looking walls, which resemble the whitewash used to cover graffiti, crisp clean fiberglass cases and mirror-polished steel are strongly dissimilar materials, chosen to accentuate through contrast the preciousness of the MARNI collections.

In Lanvin's Garden

It's been a long time since I showed you some pics of the Lanvin shop in rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré. Yesterday evening, I fancied having a look at the most lively shop window in the street. There, I discovered a heavenly garden full of women in feathers and exotic colours.

As usual at Lanvin, chunky jewels contrast with delicate clothes.
The mannequins' poses are always sophisticated.

On the other side of the street, at Lanvin Homme, the Garden of Eden reference is clearer. With, as usual, a hint of the absurd.
Looking at a Lanvin window is like standing in front of a painting. First because the background canvasses seem to have been hand-painted, and second because the setting is so well-designed you only want one thing: to imagine the story.

they list a lot of shop windows with their "philosophy" and designers/architects/interior design.... and add photos

ZOE BRADLEY is bringing a touch of romance to Pringle of Scotland's New Bond Street and Sloane Street stores.

The renowned artist - whose work which has featured in everything from Tatler to Dazed & Confused, and who has worked with the likes of Alexander McQueen and Michiko Koshino - has combined delicate paper flowers with old park benches and upturned sailboats for a nostalgic, nautical window theme celebrating summer at the brand.

"My collaboration with Pringle of Scotland was to create a sculptural rose installation for their Bloom windows," Bradley explains to us. "I drew inspiration from the cool colours and metallic textures of the spring/summer 2008 collection, echoing them in a romantic backdrop of rambling paper roses

Lanvin is so magnificent, I´m living in Madrid now but window displays are quite boring here, I´ve been around for three weeks now and still the same dresses everywhere!!
