Why does everyone on the Aus Vogue Forums love Alannah Hill ?

I'm from Manchester , but I'm living in Adelaide , pity me I've not been able to escape boho for the past 6 months !

i think she is australia's equivalent to zandra rhodes ie crazy hair etc, but a bit more subdued..

isn't she a bit 5 minutes ago though?

Ohh , I don't know I'll confess I hadn't heard of her till I started reading the Aus Vogue forums.

God this thread makes me miss home!

I think Australian street style has some sort of spark to it in a really fresh beautiful way. I know a lot of girls can tend to go for the same look (skinny jeans esp black, coloured, and bettinas are like walking clones!) but I still love the looks so i honestly dont mind.
I remember a friend from canada came to visit me in australia for about a month once and he was with me eating lunch on chapel st and he was amazed at how everyone looked incredible! In north america you will get many people who look amazing but you also dont have nearly as many as in australia. I find it to be a very fashion concious and beautiful country...not saying every single person is but on average i find it more than other places around the world.

Australian street style is very relaxed i think, at the moment it seems to involve a lot of surf brands (Roxy, Billabong, etc) and Face Off jeans. (Tacky) But that is just the people who don't really care about fashion - lots of people here have great style too!

I agree , I think there is a real ecletic mix here plus I love all the retro/vintage/op shops. I think that high street shops are better at interpreting trends too.

i dont think this thread is very accurate about australian street style...i find that ALL girls between 12-21 are wearing brightly coloured skiiny leg jeans with baggy tops and big beads...while all guys aged between 12-18 are wearing baggy jeans or cargos with industrie polo shirts.

i cant bear allanah hill

it is 5 YEARS ago, not 5 minutes ago. i am shocked, but she has developed a cult following,

thankfully there arent many girls walking around in AH though, i find her clothing flowery, frilly, flouncy and far too busy.
