P.S. I know you didn't mention what type of shop it was, but since it didn't ring a bell, I just assumed. :p

However, I do know some great shops full of handwork (a weakness of yours I know ) .
In this little shop here - 'Sé Sí' ('He She' in Irish) the workers make the clothes they sell in the shop while sitting on a chair/assisting etc.
In fact, one of the signs in the window says that if you make clothes, they will sell them for you in there. There's also a market (Cows' Lane market) where people sell some wonderful handmade clothes/accessories.

Strawberry...so many looks I love...can't believe it's just another day in Dublin...

And it's amazing to see your shots develop and improve as the thread goes on .

Ever thought of being a paparazzo ?

http://www.rte.ie/tv/offtherails/20050126section5.html

My list of links wasnt intended to be complete, just a cross section of upmarket contemporary designers, traditional and up and coming designers. Feel free to add more links

I do agree about Cows lane market, 2 of the links up there are Cows Lane designers, imho its the coolest place to be in Dublin on a saturday.

I want the entire last outfit in #96

I didn't even know Sharon Wauchob and John Rocha were Irish, they're among my fave designers. I guess I like Ireland, maybe there's a stream of Celtic blood going through my vains that makes me biased? I always loved those Celtic Myst CDs my parents bought and Lord of the Dance. Wait, is the latter an Irish thing?

I agree you would make a great paparazzo That young man sitting on his daily stairs, suspecting nothing when a girl in strawberry disguise walks towards him. It's getting a little creepy now Strawb... what's the next step?

I was actually many moons away from him. Most of the photos are thanks to a thing called zoom.

Glad you like them Quirkycool, soft, perlefine.

I'll have more tomorrow... though I hope it isn't raining since my umbrella is a giant blue rabbit, child style, and it usually helps if people aren't staring before you even start with the camera.

I haven't actually heard of that shop, Scott! To be honest, I'm relatively unfamiliar with very high-end shops. They're kind-of contained in their own area... and I avoid it, because of my poverty, and because I fear it'll somehow be pay-per-view.

On a personal note, I continue to live in a small sea-side village.
...That's lovely about your great grandmother...
I myself have no craft skills to speak of. :p
OMG,Strawberry...maybe I should make a trip to Dublin soon! How precise does the work have to be for one's work to be acquired?

But no,the shop is "sort of" high-end. They sell relatively obscure Belgian,Anna Heylen there. Mostly small designers, actually. Or so they did at the time of the airing. Some darling Irish stylist was giving a tour of some of the shops there.

And I completely forgot about Treacy! And I didn't know that Rocha was either.

Well, John Rocha is originally from Hong Kong, but his mother's Irish and he moved here when young and seems to be considered a Celtic designer since he focuses mostly on Irish materials/techniques. (linen/crochet/wool)

And yes Scott, come ...they'll want your talents, I've no doubt!!

I only noticed this whole messenger bag thing since I started taking pictures. I guess I was blind before I needed to see.

I just take the photos on my way around... different parts... though they look much the same. :p
