i visited NYC before seeing LA and just sitting around the cafes in Soho was quite the dissapointment. it was the summer of '05 and every second girl was in some sleeve-less top, a peasant skirt and a big leather belt. i was quite appalled at "NYC fashion"...

and then i went to LA for a week and hung around the robertson boulevard/beverley hills area and LOVE IT. everyone was distinct in their styles. it's so distinctly LA with the colours, the play of details, the whole vibe was so characteristic... something cookie-cutter NYC was totally lacking..

and then i went back to NYC the week after, explored more and discovered that the ones with style are actually mega cutting-edge.. its just that the masses are very cookie-cutter i thought...

anyway, i'm in LA for college now and realised that LA style only exists around west hollywood and robertson/beverley hills area. everywhere else pretty much epitomises the californian trash stereotype.

so i guess what i'm trying to say is:
the fashion creme de la creme of both cities are both up there with the fashion creativity. anyone who says LA has no style is just seeing the masses i guess "/

Those look like the bracelets they sell at a cart in The Grove. I don't know where else they sell them. I'll get the name of the company the next time I'm at the mall.

I love the leopard coat and black boots, but otherwise those looks posted above are not my cup of tea.

^^^

i'm not loving them either. they're all either nothing special or just plain ugly. la has much better style than that! i need to hunt down some better representative pictures to redeem my city.
