Some of your comments are a little harsh. When Teen Vogue featured the "Decora" girls people were applauding them for dressing so differently. I admit its not the best, but you can't say they don't have style just because it happens to be different from yours.

Didn't Camren Diaz wear a similar outfit to the Nickolodean Kids choice award?

And contrary to popular belief fashion isn't a new concept to Russia. Before the collapse many Russian woman had that classy tailored look. My mother who happens to be from a small Russian province has some great pictures that will back up my statement(since this is Moscow Street Style I don't think posting those here will be appropriete). If you watch any of the old (Russian) movies you will see that Russians were more influenced by the Europeans and now since the collapse it's nothing but America, and it's obvious what American actress/softcore-porn star these women were influenced by. Yes,I know this is suppose to be about fashion, but I just wanted to put my two cents in.

Yes I know, but some might argue that Im fueling the fire. I really don't want to get in the middle of this whole thing. Both of the sides seem to be over-passionate about the topic.

I agree with you. Russian women are really pretty with nice bodies, the only thing that helps By the way, when I was in Moscow I saw this real cheap imitation of LV bag and it costed more than $100!! Gosh, where do they only get these prices??

at the end of the day, everyone is entitled to their own opinion whether it be 'harsh' or not.as a matter of fact, i CAN say they have no style-simply because they dont.just look at those pictures you posted...are you telling me that anorexic 5 year old looking women in a cheap imitation of an old cameron diaz outfit is STYLISH?
i am not hte only one who thinks this and in case you're wondering, i have nothing against russians. i am russian my self.i go there at least once a year and virtually everyone there is a walking fashion disaster which is a shame because there are so many beautiful girls with amazing figures.

anyway, you can argue all you want with me but people whose outfits make paris hilton and various glamour models look classy, are definitely NOT what i'd choose to call 'stylish'.

At the end of the day if I see bashing without any substantive analysis I can simply tell you to shut the f*ck up. "i CAN say they have no style-simply because they dont" - well, aren't you a queen.

Those pictures posted, while are not greatest styles, are exactly what you'd see on the streets of New York and London. There is denim, there are blazer, and some ruffles - simple street style. What's your idea of streetstyle? How do you dress? I DARE YOU to post some pictures in "What Are You Wearing Today" thread. Let's see if you are fit to judge.

As a Ukrainian/Russian, I think I should post something about this thread.

I live between the centre and the East of Europe, (Czech Republic and Ukraine to be precise), and I travel, perhaps twice a year to other European countries like Italy/Spain/France/UK.
So I really know how people dress around here.

I think the problem with Russian style is the lack of edginess and individuality. Women in Russia have tremendous potential - I might be biased, but I think Slav women are absolutely stunning - yet they tend to aim for the more sexually attractive look more than anything. Whilst in Germany/Italy/etc. individuality is starting to become more and more appreciated and sought after, Russian women are still preoccupied with trends - often not the latest trends, either. Russian women love short skirts and high heels, tight jeans. Like I said, they go for the sexier look more than anything. However, I think they have the potential to look very feminine and beautiful if only they'd stop reading magazines like Cosmo and the new magazine PINK! or whatever it's called, which basically tells you what's hot and what's not. But, then again, like Faust has said, this is a problem in London and other Western cities/countries; the trend-obsession.
Even women who do have money tend to dress slightly tastelessly and too sexily. I think Russian women need to losen up a bit, let themselves be more free and stop being obsessed with logos. This is quite a big problem. LV bags - Gucci - DIOR - D&G - ppppperfection!
But I can't say that it's much better to see the Juicy Couture obsession in some Western countries. I know lots of super duper wealthy women in Ukraine who just put everything on at the same time - diamond earrings, necklaces, D&G jeans, Gucci bag, Dior shirt, Cavalli jacket, Chanel hair clips. It just makes me want to cryyy.

I think that soon enough Russian style will gain independancy. I think women need to go for the classy, feminine, simple, yet sultry look which they will be able to pull off beautifully.

By the way, whenever I come to Ukraine, people comment on how untraditional and punky I dress. Which is like, WHAT? Since I wear converse/jeans/polka dots/stripes which is really not at all original in Western countries. But it is perceived as kind of strange in Kiev.
