i've been blogging over a year now and whats helped the most with gaining new followers is to comment on other blogs ALOT (no spamming!!). you are spreading your blog this way and new viewers will sometimes follow and/or comment back on your blog.

Have other bloggers exchange links with you and put it on their blogroll.

Also, have a nice clean layout on your blog, the look can draw more followers than you think.

Speaking of looks (^), I just changed my layout a bit. I recently made a wider format to my posts, allowing bigger pictures. And I just changed the background colour and the header. Basically I'd like some opinions on how the first impression is. I got some useful help last time I posted here, concerning the format

I've recently (a month ago) started my own. Like Fashionmuse, I've found that most of my traffic comes from other people's blogs (commenting and getting linked on a couple).

Does anyone have any other tips? Or tips on how to get linked on other people's (I presume it's just a matter of emailing those you like personally and asking)?

Also mine is a mix of fashion, shopping, travel, food, and anything else I love, rather than just one subject alone. Do people think that this is 'messy' and that it's better to stick to one topic, or does this make it interesting? I'd be grateful to hear any ideas.

Thanks in advance

Hi, guys! I recently changed my header from a B&W pic to this colorful pic of myself. I don't know if it matches the black of the background, but I can't change it, I looove black... Do you guys think a black blog is unattractive?

Anyway, I've started this blog in last october and I have 37 google followers, 2 bloglovin, 7 facebook and 3 on twitter. I receive about 250 visitors a day, but most of them don't stay that much. I've read some of your external advices, but do you guys have some layout/image suggestions to attract more visitors?

Thanks

Can anyone tell me how to go about having Bloglovin' for my page (so that people can follow the page)? I see it all over the place, but am completely clueless about it myself.

And like kikiss, I'd also love to know how to attract good advertising deals.

Thanks in advance for any advice

Bloglovin' says:

Quote:
How do I add my (or anyone else's) blog to bloglovin´?

The easiest way is to look up the blog's URL (eg http://patrikring.blogg.se) under "blogs". The blog should then appear so you can add it.
If you're wanting to grab codes to add a follower button to your blog just sign up at Bloglovin' (if you haven't already) then click the "Account" button on the top bar, then click "widgets". If you want to claim your blog just hit the same "Account" button then select "my blog" and follow instructions.

septemberdaisy.wordpress.com

any feed back you could give me would be really appreciated and vice versa if you would like !

Hey everyone, great thread
I have had my blog for a year now, and although it is a blogger blog, i have modified the layout severely (thank goodness for an extensive knowledge of html)

although i dont have as many followers as some other blogs, the quality of my regular readers amazes me, i get regular comments from well known bloggers such as the lovely susie bubble and luxirare, two of my blogging gods.
I think this has been helped by networking and the fact ive built relationships with these amazing girls.

My blog isn't everyones taste, and is different to the normal outfit posts of girl standing in her living room in loose singlets, tights and wedge boots.

I would love anyone to take a look and if you like. please dont hesitate to follow and leave a comment.
There are links to follow on blogger and on blog lovin (so none of the confusing navigation of bloglovin) just click and press follow!
There are also links to my twitter and a tumblr blog i use as an imagefeed that i post more regularly on, that is just a collection of inspiration images like a constantly changing moodboard.

Would love to hear some feedback!
link is in my signature

hello everyone.. I've started my http://itsladieschoice.com blog last year, but I've never optimize it because of my limited time though I work as a content writer and SEO, I can't apply them on my blog unless I become a full time blogger..

anyway here's my simple tips:
for link building
forum posting like fashionspot, blog commenting on do follow blogs and top fashion blog. but be wise when commenting to avoid being a spammer. link exchange with pr3 - above fashion blog ( costs you money, unless you're friends or something it's for free). submit articles to different article directories like ezine... use social media sites to promote your blog like facebook or twitter.. but don't your friends overdose your blog updates okay?

make sure you have a nice url. For instance, fashionforless.com than chocolatelove.com and you talk more about fashion.

In writing articles
make sure you put 3 keywords you want to optimize in your post. In the title, introduction and so on.

write a post that is interesting like a product review based on your experience. Most women are looking for article not a copy and paste articles but based on your experience.

Writing good articles let your viewers visit blog again for your new updates.

Write articles while considering your reader's needs.

that's all for now

wekilledcouture - I think your blog is great. I really like that it is b&w - it's really different from the other blogs out there. That's awesome that you have regular readers including susie bubble and luxirare. =) Happy first blog birthday!

boots & perfume - I like that you have a mix of content, and thoughtful posts too!

my fashion insider - i really like how you cover a lot of topics but organize them very specifically.

I'd appreciate if anyone could give me feedback of any kind on my blog! I've had it for a while, but only started really posting this january/february. http://endlessnightsnyc.blogspot.com

if anyone would like to exchange links, i'd be happy to! i will get that up and running soon =)

Hey Everyone,

I've posted in this thread before but I'm back again.

My blog is www.fashionography.wordpress.com. I am in the process of trying to find a web host, so on and so forth. I am wanting to consult a lawyer or attorney about my blog before I make any big changes or updates. Anyone know where I can find the right person to talk to? How do I go about this? Your help and advice would be very appreciated.

Thanks!
