All About Financing Fashion School or College - loans, grants, scholarships, etc.
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone in Australia knew about student loans and if a bank would loan me money to pay for a 23,000 australian dollars/9,000 UK pounds summer 10 week course in Switzerland?

$5,000 is the maximum merit based scholarship you can receive. the rest is need based or from an outside source

i don't think there is an application process for the 5,000, you either get it or you don't based on your portfolio.

research online for other ones.
the new school is fickle, there really isn't a lot they can do for you. fill out your fasfa and google.com

i'm sorry, i have never heard of a being able to get a Grant to study fashion design
you would have to have very special circumstances
like there are Grants for the Disabled

perhaps you mean bursaries or scholarships
Try searching for scholarships in your country. They are basically contests and if you win, you get the money to go to school
Some scholarships are also based on your portfolio (or work experience like volunteering) and some are attained through sports and other extra-curricular activities

i always thought schools issue scholarships for people who are citizens of that country (not other countries)

you can also research getting student loans
or you could apply to a school in mexico that has partnerships with schools overseas
For example, many art schools here have partnerships with schools all over the world-- they have a specific list of schools they are connected with
You would pay the tuition you pay at your school (in Mexico) but you would be studying overseas

This is how i heard it at least

Or you could save money :p or work overseas and try to go to school at the same time
