Most internships are done when you are still in school ... many companies only offer the internship if you are in your school's intern program and getting credits for the hours you work. But ... some don't care . The only way you can find out is to call each company about their interships and the requirements ... and how you may apply.

As far as getting a job (off topic in this thread) ... it's the same as getting any job, or internship, for that matter.... research .... check various listings, call companies, look at their websites ... to find out who is hiring.

If you want specific information about certiain types of industries ... such as modeling agencies, there are threads about many different types of careers and jobs here. Using the Advanced Search will be the only way to find them .... and it's a specific process where you should search buy thread tiltles only and ask for results as threads .... and specify Careers & Education. If you don't do all of that ... you will get way too many results. There is a thread pinned near the top of the Member Support forum with details how to do an advanced search effectively ... and how to set your search preferences, to make it easier next time you search. BTW ... keywords I suggest are: modeling agency agencies booker bookers agent agents ... you'll find the thread. If you search using the words career and careers ... it will bring up a lot more interesting threads.

Back in January I e-mailed one studio asking about an internship. It was looking really good since I've taken classes at the studio before and told them I knew how they work, etc. I got an email back the following day I got an email back saying they're VERY interested and the lady gave me her phone number to set up an interview the following week. Here's the twist: I NEVER called her and that internship went out the window, I just had a billion things come up and it was nearly impossible. I know I should've emailed her and told her but yeah, now I feel so rude.

My question is, even now, I'd still like to have an internship there and was wondering what you guys think of that? Would it be weird to email them again, should I mention that I've emailed them before? Because if I email the same thing I wrote last time they'll probably think it's spam and plus, that would be awkward. I just don't know what to say/my excuse for not ever emailing them back even if I doubt they'll remember. It's just confusing because I finally have time to put effort into this but I feel like if I shoot them another email they'll think oh that's the girl that never replied back to us.

I'd really appreciate some suggestions how I can go about this again.

Definitely email them. Tell them an emergency/medical/family/school situation came up and you were unable to commit to an internship before. I doubt they will hold it against you, and if your attitude is very pleasant and eager, they're still going to be interested in YOU.

I know Ed2010.com is a GREAT resource to see who's looking for interns. But most positions call for a digital e-mailed resume. How can I find the addresses and people to e-mail hard copies of resumes to at Conde Nast?

Well usually the editors of conde Nast would be located in the conde Nast building in new York. So I would say do the research and check the mastheads of the magazine and address it to the person

Hi, since I am a International Business and Finance major that is interested in the behind the scenes of fashion, I am wondering where would be some good places to check for internships that deal with the fiance or even marketing side of things. Any response would be greatly appreciatd.

Rightguard have a look at this thread here, about Business Graduates in the Fashion industry:
http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums...try-54899.html

Many sites like www.freefashioninternships.com cover fashion marketing and PR internships too.

A disturbing pattern: many entry-level positions are being converted into internships. This is fact, and I am worried about it.

Yep I definitely see that Internship postings are increasing, and entry level position ads are so hard to find now

Hi all...

I was recently invited to a premiere fashion website which will launch in January, and they asked me to be their first guest stylist. I went, and they also offered me the *unofficial* position as a contributing writer and to return again when they launch to guest style! I'd like to take them up on their offer... and in passing they mentioned a possible internship position in the summer!

Anyway, I am wondering when would it be a good time for me to take them up on this offer / mention it? I'm thinking I'll write a few articles for them, and keep in touch, so in late spring I can mention the internship? Opinions? I'm only 15 and this is my first offer for anything fashion related.
