^ dont stress on the collection theme, enjoy yourself and the 'inspiration' will come out of the blue
have a great trip

Belgium road trips always bring a creepy, space-y 'twilight zone'/'invasion of bodysnatches' feeling to me
have a blast

Good sketches everyone!
This is a great thread, I'll have to post some of my stuff
when I get around to getting pictures of it
I'm excited now because starting in October I'm taking
a fashion design course at RISD.

I'm a design student that is just beginning school, but I was wondering if it is necessary to always draw a person with the garment. Ive always just drawn the actual garment. I want to post some for some feedback, but not so sure I should !

JR1 hope that your collection went well! looking forward to see result!!
Lena i think that when a professional designer work on collection he need to do 35-60 pieces. but for us i think it's more up to you because it's not a professional one.

^ you are right, but look, its better if one learns how to work on conceptual 'professional' collections from starts, this will 'prepare' you for the 'real thing'..
better get used to concept design, believe me it wont hurt you guys a bit
(its easy to have one or two good ideas, the improtant thing is how you develop those good ideas to a concrete collection look)

ok...i did 55 designs for my collection, but i still need to draw them up better quality, which i will try and do for tomorrow, then upload and post...my theme was belgium, since i was there, but i used architecture as inspiration, and i will post the photos with my collection too

ok, here they are, but PLEASE take into account that i had to rush these just so i didnt waste all day... but if someone wants me to draw a look without rushing it, just ask so what do you guys think? i'd love to hear all opinions

(the sketches i did in the car (bottom left) are actually better than the top ones

i have to disagree with you Seth C. i think that they are not simple, and like architecture they are complicated.
JR1 it's look realy nice and i love the last one, but i would like see some of the sketches more detailed.

Yeah it does look like the construction gets complicated. It would take some time to figure out how to sculp some of the stuff and decide what materials to use.
I like that you added a good mix of easy-to-wear and more high fashion outfits
