Beautiful work, morningstar !!
I love your use of different fabrics
and details (like on collar and hems)
It's great seeing the finished products!!

Did you do the prints on the fabric yourself? I love the subtle grey print on the grey dress

Thank you. Which dress were you referring to? In any case all the fabrics were purchased from Mood (made famous by Project Runway).

Here are the details of the 3 selected looks:

Look 1:
1. Moleskin jacket with sateen ruffle detail
2. Black/black floral jaquard cotton dress with silk satin bodice

Look 2:
1. Purple chiffon paisley henley dress with organza ruffle and bib

Look 3:
1. Purple/black alpaca herringbone vest
2. Cotton dress with burn out polka dots (instead of printed or jacquard dots the dots are semi sheer)

I should also note that the looks evolved from the collection. I don't have the sketch for the first dress, but the jacket for the first look evolved into the one shown in the photo. The polka dot burn out dress has one skirt instead of two and no sleeves as opposed to the sketch.

I was referring to...
in the "garments on the hangers" section,
the grey dress inside the grey jacket with the shiny ruffles.
That's cool that you can get so many subtle shades in that Mood shop.
I heard famous designers also go there?

What are flats?

Oh, it's actually black. I think it's the flash. It's a black satin bodice with a large black/black floral jacquard skirt. When I get the chance I will post another collection.

Mood actually gets leftover fabric supply from large companies. Big designers make factory orders for their fabric from mills around the world. Apparently when I check the style tag for the alpaca for my vest it said it came from Peter Som, heh.

Flats are the construction drawings next to those illustrations. I'm actually not proud of those. Those are probably my worst flats from senior year.

Yes, I did attend Parsons, I just graduated in May. I've never had either of them, but Felice knows me. She's pretty tough, hahaha.

really nice drawings and explanations, morningstar
i'm interested to see how the floral appliqué ones will come out

what does it mean by 'washed'?
washed silk shorts, washed silk dress...
does it mean the fabric is dyed and then washed out?

Washed silk is a type of fabric. The silk is woven and then washed so it has a really soft hand.

An example a washed silk garment by Dana Buchman:

^I see now. Thanks
Did you build a mood board for inspiration for your collections? It seems like many students at Parsons do this. Maybe the teachers advise it

All students are required to have a mood board, fabric board and flats for their projects. No teacher will allow a student to show their work without a mood board.
