Chanel: Collections and Creations is a magnificent book- highly recommended!! The Vogue book I am not familiar with, but I have two books called The Forties in Vogue and The Fifties in Vogue that are really good; what I've seen of their other books in the bookstore are all very well done!

I Have the Vogue Covers Book, its good if your a fan of the Magazine (It's just UK Vogue covers though) and it features alot of their most iconic covers (I.e. Kate as David Bowie, Princess Diana's October 97' cover ect ect).
there is also a Paris Vogue Covers 1920 - 2009 if your a fan of their covers too.

This Book has really got my Interest at the Moment, and I'm really looking forward to buying it.

Louis Vuitton: 100 Legendary Trunks: The History of the Travel Trunk by Pierre-Leon Forte & Florence Muller
The Release date is the 1st of November.

it's Hardback and 496 pages.

Quote:
In the same format as our spectacular The Birth of Modern Luxury (540 pages, 600 illustrations) comes Louis Vuitton: The History of the Travel Trunk. This book provides the definitive story of the creation of their legendary travel luggage. In the middle of the nineteenth century, trains and steam ships transformed transportation and opened the world to a new breed of travellers. Louis Vuitton understood the need for more practical luggage and strove to create products that were adaptable to all situations. Authors Pierre-Leon Forte and Florence Muller explore all aspects of this story from Louis Vuitton's apprenticeship in traditional box making to the revolution of the stackable flat-top trunk; from the development of the tumbler lock to the creation of the LV monogram canvas. It also includes examples of devoted customers such as Queen Elizabeth II and explorer Pierre S De Brazza. Illustrated with 600 images taken from the Vuitton archives, this book will be the definitive volume on one man and his sons' dedication to creating objects of luxury and practicality.

Pierre Leon Forte has been working at Maison Louis Vuitton for many years and is currently the editor in chief of the City Guide Vuitton series. Florence Muller is a historian, a correspondent for the magazine Surface, and a professor at Institut Francais de la Mode in Paris where she lives. She is the author of Abrams' Yves Saint Laurent: Style, among other books.

^ Amazing- I'd love to see that too! I picked up a coffee table book about the history of perfume which sounded awful, and it was one of the most fascinating books I ever read!! There are so many things we aren't aware of, I imagine...

Nylon Book of Global Style
Hi everyone, i was in Urban Outfitters today and i randomly look over and see "Nylon Book of Global Style". So, i walk over and grab it (not sure what i was going to expect as far as how good it is, or not) and opened it. Once opened, i literally couldn't put the book down, i stayed in the store for about an hour just looking thru the book. I didnt buy it, but came home and purchased it on ebay(CHEAPER ).

Was wondering, does anyone else have this book or any of the other street style fashion books? If so, what are your thoughts on it? This should be an interesting thread!

There's a great Taschen book with Fashion Ads, and has a time line through-out the whole book. Might be useful.

Does anybody know any good books about fashion in the 70s? I'd prefer books with photographs, but others would be good too. For whatever reason I've always been attracted to the fashion of that time.
