I am taking A levels at the moment and will finish by summer next year (08). I have a few questions:
1) Is it correct that I would need to do foundation in Art and Design after this? Is that for 1 year?
2) How competitive is it to get on the BA Fashion course? Do I have any chance whatsoever?
3) Do I need a GCSE in art?
Karma for any help!!

1)yup, you have to do foundation before you can do BA. unless you did what VICTIM did(search back 5 or 6 pages and you can read exactly what VICTIM said). foundation is one year.
2)personally, i think it's competitive. if you are good and they like you, than of course you have a chance.
3) that i have nooo idea. im not british, so my way of getting in is different

I was wondering if anyone had ny insider information on the short courses offered at central saint martins. I`m from Canada and would like to do foundation (and further...)there next year. Most of the courses seem to last only a week. Would I be able to take 2 in a row? Also, how is the quality of the teaching compared to a full time program? Thanks!

i dont know much about the short courses, so i cant help you much barbizon.

the people in my group ranges in age, we have 18 year olds like myself, and we have a few older students like 27 and 30 somethings. but the general age ranges from 18 to 20

^^^ You can take as many short courses as you want given that they are not at the same time. Usually they run from 10 am-4pm Monday through Friday. they are usually taught by the same teachers who teach at CSM. I have taken so many short courses at CSM so if you need more info PM me.

Literally 2 days ago and I got accepted on the spot! The interview was no more than 20 minutes. I was going back and forth with the USA representative on my options for applying and she suggested I apply now (i wasn't planning to apply till next year) and so I took it as a sign and said yes. And the rest is history.

I graduated from Parsons with a 2 year degree and I'm currently working now. I do have a lot of experience, but I never had a degree before Parsons. I was able to get into the 2 year program without a prior degree even though it was required. I have been able to prove my ability in both schools so that's why I have been able to get in.

The interviewer from CSM skipped me because he told me I was far to advanced to be in the same classes with young kids who just got off foundation, he felt that I was already a designer and I just need to expand on my skills, not learn from scratch.
