I wonder what a portfolio is, I have an idea but I don't know exactly what it is. Could anybody tell me? Does it only includes sketches? And if it's that, I don't know how many pages can I present? (because I have a lot, around five full shoes boxes). Is it too much? Should I present photographies, art pictures and things like that?

I have also thought about presenting some of my skecthes to a couture house, but I think I wouldn't have any benefit from that. Do you think it would be useful? Furthermore people have tell me that they can even copy your ideas...

Please, any help?

Thank you!!

I don't get what you're saying about CSM Creative concerning Pelayo.
Do you think he gives a bad reputation to the school ?

Not a bad reputation, I think it would be very difficul because it 's hard to change a famous and prestigious school reputation. What I mean is that I don't like the new atmosphere I have heard lately about about CSM.
As I said Pelayo, House of Holland...

They say in the letter they send you to be selective, but I put EVERYTHING in mine, sketches, worksheets, photos, paintings, even stuff that wasn't related to fashion. Mine was huge compared to everyone else's, but I think it gives them more of an impression that you're a hard worker and capable of producing lots of different pieces of work and developing work as well, rather than showing them just 'finished' pieces. Hope that helps

Thank you very much!!! I will give yo karma.

It really drives me mad. I'm really lost about this topic. I don't know what to do and where to go... But for european people CSM has very good fees in comparison with Chambre Syndicale...
I think the same as you. If you have a lot of ideas I believe it 's better to present all of them for them to know that you're a hardworking and creative person...

Are you studying at CSM?

I will be, in September! I got on to do the fashion knitwear course, but originally applied to do womenswear. It was after they looked through my portfolio that they decided i should be doing knitwear instead, which i didnt even realise at the time but it became so glaringly obvious after Id had the interview and looked through all of my stuff again, so it is worth taking a good variety of things for them to look at. Well, that's what I think about it anyway!

I've sent off the application for halls today, I'm hoping for Manna Ash but I'm not that bothered really about where they put me, as long as its not miles and miles away from CSM like a few of the halls are.

thats where i was looking at, but do you get anything in the post about this,
i only found out friday via UCAS' site that i'd been accepted,
i don't know whether to wait a touch before sending off a halls application.

also, did any of you get told to send your qualifications to CSM?
i had it at the bottom of my letter, for verification I think,
what qualifications do they want to see, GCSE?

^ditto haha. i know my room at don gratton is already booked when i lave on june 22nd.

about the whole changed atmosphere at csm. well, there ARE still talents at csm but of course there will be fillers as well. the economy isnt very good right now, and big schools like this need money. also, building a new campus near king's cross isnt cutting down the cost neither...obviously.
name sake wise, yes, they are great at that. but it's only appearance really
but i have to say, people there work very hard
