Interesting thread.
I'm studying law but i haven't got my heart in it.
As someone said earlier, it's important that you really want to study it. Although studying is different from practice...
I'm applying to law school RIGHT NOW (actually surfing tfs to procrastinate writing my mini-essay for yale ) and being a "fashion lawyer" would be pretty ideal for me. Doubt it will happen, but one can dream, right?
unfortunately or fortunately (atm, i'm not really sure)
All i can say is the obvious: only enter a 5 year + degree if you're really passionate about it. (Doing it just because it's a more 'safe' career option or whatever- not having the courage to take less certain paths IS WRONG and A WASTE OF YOUR PRECIOUS TIME. )
Good luck with your applications shoexgal &nerdphanie
I would say get the best law degree you can then you can probably take a conversion to Fashion Law, look at places like London College of Arts or specialised places that might offer it.
When I saw this thread I was so happy. I'm applying to go to law school in 1 month and I will know where in about 6. I am working at a corporate firm right now and studying for the LSATs. I wanted to work in the field of immigration as well as work for celebrities and in the fashion industry. That interests me a lot. I don't know if I'm such a fan of IP, but customs sounds interesting.
Wow, a couple of months ago I saw an ad for an immigration law firm looking for a Paralegal to work with their entertainment clients...visas and such...based on the ad I assumed it was for models/celebrities/executives. That would have been right up your alley. At least now you know there is a way to merge your interests. Good luck.

Thank you So you dont have to do an actual fashion degree first?
well there is no actual fashion law degree. Fashion law classes or conferences are offered under intellectual property law sections for second and third years.
You could go to school for immigration, graduate and then take part in seminars on fashion law to gain insight and guidance in the field.
