Hey, you guys are all bad ***! I finally saw this thread. What exactly does a stylist do? I'm a little perplexed by everything it is.

I need to start doing this, as I love storyboarding, scripting and vintage, industrial looking aparatus. I'll get some pictures of some of the areas around where I live, as I always thought these would be good places to shoot something, like a movie or catalog or whatnot. So I guess it's like art direction in a sense? Chill...

yes...
on an editorial(magazine) shoot...
the stylist/editor acts as art director along with the photographer...

for advertising...
there is an actual art director who is in charge...(so usually much less creative for the team)

that is why people are willing to do editorial for so little pay-creative freedom!!

those locations you are thinking of sound good ...

i really love your photos. i like that they're romantic and sexy and subtly sultry all at the same time. The first is my favorite - love the red nail polish on the model. it was a really great touch!
