Hejsa..

I am not studying there no, but I did get an offer to start in september 2006. I will probably study International Relations & Economics. Again, I am not sure about media studies, but you can check it out at the ucas site. www.ucas.com.

When are you suppose to start your studies.?

If that's Richmond the american uni in London, than consider yourself lucky. Due to it's high cost ( I think it's something like 25.000 pounds a year for tuition + accomodation, that's what it was, when I checked it last time ) The facilities are excellent, you'll have the time of your life. One of my best friends currently goes there.

But do remember, that because it's an american university, some courses are 4 year courses, because of the 'Liberal Arts Model' based on the american university system. Otherwise, look forward to it, I am sure you'll love it too.

I applied to Cambridge but I didn't get in ... I knew I wouldn't because although I got 4 A's at AS Level and am predicted the same for A Level, I only got 1 A*, 2 A's, 1 C and the rest B's at GCSE, which is very low considering the majority of people who apply have straight A's. And on top of that my attendance is outrageously bad because I've bunked off for weeks at a time since I've started college.

I have a conditional offer for Kings College though, which has always been my first choice.

Disastrously. I suspect the fact that I expected a literature-based (French) degree, whereas they have no desire to actually teach language had something to do with it. Half the applicants who gained places at the college I was interviewed by were non-UK nationals (ie they were bilingual).

My brother graduates with an MPhys from Oxford this year.

Every cloud... though: the interviewer at UCL was wearing Comme Des Garcons!

I didn't get in either.

Everything was perfect, except for my interview with the three tutors (altough I fought bravely :p, it was like a firing squad).
I applied for PPE.
We ONLY talked about a page taking out the book by John Mill ( I think it was page 89 ). I didn't come across the way I wanted to ,because I didn't read that book.
I will probably try again in september, if modeling works out for me, because then I have something to do for the next year or so. I have until the end of the summer to decide. If not, i'll just go with Westminster.

Where was your first choice?

Do you know Swedish?

I was thinking about International Relations and Economics too, media studies doesn't seem that serious. It's so hard to decide! I didn't apply for 2006 but I will probably apply for 2007. It's difficult to know how good my grades are compared to the british system so it's hard to know where I have a chance to get in. I was thinking about Kings college too. May I ask you where you will study?

And thanks, I will check out the ucas site!

Here's some info for everyone who needs public, and inside information on different universities around the UK.

1.www.ucas.com

2.www.thestudentroom.co.uk

This was very useful to me when I was applying to uni's. It's a student based forum, so there's the oppertunity to ask current students questions. There's an abundance of knowledge there, so i'm sure everyone can find what they are looking for.

Good luck to everyone !
