Does anyone have the clout that Loving and Winnetrap had in the 80's ? Who are the new powerful fashion PR firms... Sorry if this seems off-topic but I am having trouble finding this info

I believe it was Loving and Weintraub but I could be wrong... Anyway, currently KCD is one of the most powerful.. They handle Marc Jacobs, Anna Sui, Calvin Klein in New York... They have always been one of the best.

i'd also add Paul Wilmot who reps Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta and a few others.

A lot of PR is now done by in house teams, but I'd say of the firms, KCD, Paul Wilmot, Karla Otto (represent Marni, among others) and PR Consulting (Balenciaga, Pierre Hardy, Dries). Hope this helps!
