Guys, is it too late for me to apply for Spring this year?? I applied online on 14th October last year, they send me a letter giving me details on how to check my application status... The problem is when I checked my status they said that they're still waiting for my TOEFL results which I have already sent to them weeks ago.. at the same time I'm also applying for FIT and they have received my TOEFL results and I'm puzzled right now as to why Parsons havent received it yet... Any explanations?

CALL. THE. SCHOOL.
Seriously you guys. If there is any problem with your application, or if you have questions that need to be addressed immediately because of deadlines, The website and the office of admissions should be your first source for any question like this.
The site should have the deadline listed for when all application materials should be turned in.

Does anybody have any information about English students wanting to go to Parsons or any NYC uni? I love the idea of going to uni outside of England and New York is definitely somewhere I see myself living at some point so it sortof makes sense to go to uni there although I have no idea where to start by applying or knowing what the US equivalent qualifications to UK ones I need. HELP!?

Parsons has rolling admissions-(or they did when I was applying 4 years ago) so you should hear back as soon as they make their decision...I sent my application right before xmas break my senior year of HS and heard back by the second or third week of January....

Parsons has a VERY large international student body so they have a dept. for international students...get into contact with someone there/look over the site below and hopefully you can get some things cleared up...

http://www.newschool.edu/studentservices/international/

Also if you need to get someone of the phone, go to the newschool website, they have a phone directory that allows you to search for numbers & emails by last name or department...just look under int'l student services and get whatever names/nums/emails you need...

my 2 cents

I graduated from Parsons in Spring 06 with an AA degree. I had already earned my BA from Georgia State University in 04 and I had decided to go back to school for fashion marketing. Its true Parsons is really expensive therefore I had to cram in 2 years of classes into 1 year due to cost. I took 9 classes per semester and interned. I felt that it was worth it only because of the contacts I made. I interned at Fresh and Donna Karan that led to my current position as a PR Coordinator for Shiseido Cosmetics. I think that doing the AA degree is a really great step into getting into the fashion industry. Even now I work in the beauty industry but I go to fashion week and do fashion related stuff since we sponsor quite a few fashion shows.... so overall I enjoyed my Parsons experience, although I feel that I probably could've done it cheaper at FIT.

Check up on amenaties on the website and visit if you can. That's really what did it for me, was actually seeing the buildings. If you want a "real" dorm experience, Loeb is the way to go. 16 floors of crazy. The only one I would say to stay away from is Marlton, because you don't have a kitchen and you don't have a cafeteria. If you're at 13th Street, be aware that you HAVE TO sign up for the meal plan, the workers like to close the caffeteria whenever they feel like it and there is no communal kitchen. After that, wherever you are will become home. No big deal. I was at USQ last year, but it's not going to be around in the fall unfortunately.

i lived in the williams street dorms. overall they weren't too bad. i had 2 other roommates. one had her own private room and another girl and i were in the communal room. it shared a kitchen and bathroom. the only thing that kinda sucked was the location. Williams street is in the financial district. its pretty dead at night and the weekends but its convenient to the 2,3,4,5,j,m,z, and AC. I did find a dead mouse when I came home after christmas break.. and i know the people on the top floor had bed bugs.... but thats just new york.
