How Internet is influencing luxury industry ?
Hello everyone ! I'm writing my thesis on differences between mass market brand and luxury brand in terms of digital exposure , do you think there is distinctive line which defines how much luxury brand should be ' digitally visible ' ? I would love to know your opinions ! thank you !

Hi everyone! If you love fashion books, I'd really appreciate it if you could complete my short survey:

It's for a uni project and completely anonymous. Thank you!

Does anyone of you guys know if the french word "styliste" mean "stylist" or "designer"? I'm looking for jobs in France and I'm not quite sure.

I'm in huge need of Canadian people, haha.
I'm studying American Studies, but the fact is that, as you suppose, mostly everything is about USA, now it's the second year and we finally focus on other coutries I have to write an essay (there is a list of 40 topics like immigrants in Canada, Olympics, Case of Quebec, Canadian Army etc.) but I don't want to just make a random choice. I'm not really aware of whole Canada stuff, but I want to change it immediately! So if you're Canadian then let me know if you want to help and write me via pm or any social media, I won't bite, I'll ask you some questions about your country and problems and what specific problems r hidden behind those topics

Nurses inspired fashion
Hi, I'm doing a homework for my styling class about the role of nurses and how designers and stylists use elements of their outfits in fashion. Do you guys know of any editorials and collections nurses inspired?

Google the LV nurses runway show; not sure if they inspired the whole collection or just the presentation of it, but it was a great show.

ETA: Here we go, from theguardian.com:

John Galliano was inspired by S&M for Dior HC F/W 2000 and did a scary nurse outfit out of a child's nightmare.

A.F Vandevorst uses hospitals as inspiration, check:
http://i-donline.com/2011/10/in-bed-...-f-vandevorst/

Their 1998 collection was presented in hospital beds. More hospital than nurse inspired though..
Even their logo is a reference to the hospital/medicine being a red cross.

Thank you guys! I've also found out that Pam Hogg's spring summer 2013 collection was largely inspired by nurses costumes.

oh yeah a.f. vandevorst is very rich with medical-derived work. in fact they're probably the only designers who have woven deep it into the essence of their work, not merely some fleeting novelty. theirs have been as poetic and clever as it's come. you could probably look at most of their collections and find elements since they started in 98.

I remember in the September Issue there was a scene when Andre said a designers's collection looked "very clinical". Do a search for A/W 2007 collections and you may have a collection that may not be a literal translation of a nurses uniform, but one done more abstractly.

I just did a google search and Andre was referring to Isabel Toledo and Calvin Klein's collections. The more I think about it, the CK reference may have really been "clinical" in the sense you're looking for. However the Toledo collection is worth checking out as the clean lines and simplicity speak in the collection could have taken a que from nurses uniforms.
