Softie,

Here is a quick step by step of how I sketch
first get body to draw over, then get the the clothing, then put in the color. Note that the clothing must be a closed shape to hold the color, other wise it will not be enclosed completly. The lines for wrinkles are placed on top of the color. It is all very flat but still looks Ok.

Clay are you drawing over a body/template in Illustrator or are you doing the drawing over croquis on paper, and then scanning it in?

Ive been doing my illustrations by hand(on paper I mean) , but I've been thinking about trying some different techniques with software.

I have the croquis inside Illustrator and i draw over it in Illustrator, All work is done inside the program/ No more paper except for printing.
