one year in marangoni vs. 4 years in applied arts uni in vienna?
good morning everyone,

read p.1-p. 35 all u posted about fashion schools and it seems everyone has different oppinions about every school. i'm struggling of choosing school lately especially after reading all the helpful opinions here. i'm taking fashion drawing course and pattern making course right now and plan to go study abroad in 2006 although i'm not in fashion business right now. marangoni one-year intensive fashion design course provide "fashion design I & II", "pattern making I & II" and computer technique I & II" for 2 semesters while applied arts uni in vienna provide the whole set of fashion design courses from basic drawing, art history to fashion design and shows. what exactly does the one year will i learn from the one year course in marangoni? what will i learn from the 4 years programs in vienna for being a desinger? what's the different results will i have from your professional point of view? will one year in marangoni too short for me? or will 4 years in applied arts uni in vienna too academic for me? Be honest I'm thinking to be a wedding gown designer which brings rejoice to people...that's my goal : D

thanks for all ur response and hope u all have a nice day

I've read about several fashion design schools in Canada but I was wondering if anyone was familiar with any schools that offer a degree program in Fashion Merchandising/Buying? I looked at Ryerson but the Fashion Communications program is a. a Bachelor's of Designs degree and b. doesn't really fulfill a curriculum for buying/merchandising.

Hi! Is it hard to get to FIT in NYC? Do they require a specific GPA? What do they require? I want to transfer there from Hunter COllege, because I am more into fashion than nursing:/

Thanks for any advice
