does anybody work at any modeling agencies? ... and if yes, what is it exactly that you do?

I don't but I woukld love to. I've just sent my resume and a cover letter to a mdeling agency in my city. I hope they're gonna hire me!

I guess the easiest way to get in is to have connections, to know people that work in the industry. If you don't know, you need to do the same as Lax89.

Have some questions:

- What should you include in your resume to apply to an agency ?
- Can you work as part-time ?

I wanted to apply to an agency here actually but couldn't work as full-time.

I called IMG and asked if they had any jobs or internships available. I'm really interested in working for bookings.

Well I sent an e-mail asking if I could intern. I mentionned I was a student so I guess they know I can't work full-time. And they asked me to send my resume and a cover letter so I did it.

I really want to work there. I know this job is gonna help me for my career unlike being a waiter or working in supermarkets won't help ! lol

Only as an intern ?
So you wouldn't want to sign a contract and get payed if they liked your performance ?

I will need to search some agencies soon. Truth is, I know for a fact that there's agencies here, although the city is so big that I never got to see anyone, so I don't really know where they are etc. Having connections is really very important, it sucks when you want to get in and you don't have anyone that could help you.

^Yes, I'm not thinking about a full time job now. I need an intership for my university, too. And it has to be in Italy since I'm studying Italian.

Anyway, I won't try writing to an agency on my own. Connections are more important I guess..

I think you should still give it a try and see how it turns out.

Just write to an agency and if you don't get an answer within 1 or 2 weeks just call the agency.

I'm not saying a full-time job. I want a part-time as well. You said you wanted to work as an intern, but interns don't get paid, you work as an intern for a short period of time, maybe 2 weeks ? or a month ? I don't know really know. After that time is either you sign and work with them or you are out.

Connections are important but if you don't have them, you need to find a way of getting them and try to get in an agency is a way, no ?

I think in France interns are always paid but I don't know about Italy.
