maybe you can try to intern for COACD for the summer. It'll be cool to work for them.

In France it's sure. I even asked one of my teachers. He even told me that when you want to intern to discover how a company works and you intern more than 2 months then you're automatically paid, like 300€ or sth.

Highly unlikely that agencies pay their interns, at least not the major players.

A friend of mine didn't get anything for working like 3 months in one of Paris' strongest "power-houses".

hey Lax COACD sounds like a great idea, I'm definitely going to look into that!

A friend of mine interned in Milan for a year and got paid, but he got paid after working 3 months and it was minimum wage... so paid internships definitely do exist!

Wow this is pretty shocking! It's not fair at all. I don't know what to say. I'm shocked. You would think that modeling agencies would reward you for all the work you did. Turns out they don't.

Maybe paid internships only happen in companies and not in modeling agencies.

But in the end of the day you should ask yourself why you want to intern for an agency..... an intern is predominantly meant to gain experience, not to earn money.
Ford Models NYC pays i think. No idea about Major, Marilyn and Elite....

when interning at an agency, you usually end up working for the agency after the internship... if you do sucessfully of course!

It's true, I completely agree but It could be nice if you could get a little reward for the job/tasks you've accomplished.

I found this thread very interesting and informative with useful suggestions regarding internships and becoming involved with agency experience. Coming across only a few footnotes, I just wanted to enquire whether anyone based in London could share any knowlegde about this. It's certainly something I've had great interest in & have been curious about. In terms of where to start, would you also recommend just contacting London agencies about possible opportnities and work placements? Thanks

It's all about time and effort you put in with an agency.
i really feel some are just "born with it" and others can't handle it.

it's an industry like no other thats for sure.

the secret is don't be afraid to start low and work your *** off to move up and up and up.
