that's a famous richard avedon photo - "dovima with elephants" - one of my favorites! avedon used her a lot. in fact, in funny face, fred astaire plays dick avery, the photographer, who was inspired by avedon.

dovima worked with richard avedon a lot, and did mostly fashion shoots. there isn't much about her on the web. speaking of, nars has a new shade of nail polish named dovima. it's the perfect shade of orange-y red.
