I dont know, im sure i could have described the comparison better and there were a few other things but i cant really remember at the mo.
i have just been going through every page of this thread and thinking this the whole time

Has anyone else noticed the changes made to Edie's Wikipedia page? It's so much better now.

But..

"Edith Sedgwick (April 20, 1943 – November 15, 1971) was an American socialite, debutante and heiress who starred in many Andy Warhol short films in the 1960s."

Isn't there something wrong with this? How can you call Edie an heiress? What did she inherit? Also, I don't know if it's right to call her a debutante...

The Sedgwicks are (were?) a very wealthy family. Her dad made his fortune off of oil. Part of the reason Edie was so popular with the Factory crowd was that she was rich enough to pay for everything. The Sedgwick name is everywhere, there's a Sedgwick county in Kansas, a Sedgwick street in Chicago... among others. They talk about her family in depth in "Edie: An American Girl."

She came from a wealthy enough family for her to live lavishly without having to work. She would have inherited a lot of money had she lived because i think she was on good terms with her family by the end, after her dad died.

New article and picture from Factory Girl
http://community.livejournal.com/edi...wick/1971.html

Edie's cousin is writing a book about the family
http://community.livejournal.com/edi....html#comments

So her family does like that this movie is being made? Or is it just him?

Fairyx that book looks really cool. Are there a lot of other rare photos other than the ones shown on ebay? Would you be able to scan some?

yes that is Misha Sedgwick, the one who is pretending to be related to Edie.

Yes, this is Misha Moore, the person who attempted to pass herself off as a Sedgwick. Ick!

i found this poem, it's called 'Mad Edie.' I'm not sure if it's about Edie Sedgwick though....but it really seems like it.

Edie was a dreamer
Edie was a case
She mentioned the unmentionable
And they put her in her place.

She gave away her wonder
She gave away her bread
She gave away her fancy
And wished that she was dead.

Her head was filled with sorrow
Her head was filled with gloom
She listened to the radio
And would not leave her room.

When Edie dreamed of heaven
Her soul soared like a bird
When Edie dreamed of money
They told her she was cured.

How she loved the parties!
How she loved the men!
How she loved the clever words
That brought her down again.

What do you think?
