Either it was to control her drug use or more for her family which didn't approve of her lifestyle & choices. About Sienna playing Edie, I personally think she'll do a good job. She is doing alot of research and even though she's not a dead ringer for Edie, hopefully she'll capture some of Edie's charm. I don't think it matters if Sienna doesn't possess the same dark features Edie did. Since the movie is called "Factory Girl", I'm guessing that they'll focus on Edie's Factory days when she was "the icon of whiteness". I'd like to think they'll focus on ALL of her life but who knows? I think "FG" will be like the movie "Gia". It will create a bit of interest in Edie but it won't over commercialize her. Hopefully!
Ohhh, of course i've seen Ciao! Manhattan! They said they saw a documentary and i didn't think there was one, but i guess you can concider ciao manhattan one.

To get in training for her role as Edie Sedgwick in Factory Girl, Si has been painting large canvases - not with the help of paint brushes but with her knockers instead.
Evidently, sixties icon Sedgwick used to do just that.
And if you fancy seeing what sort of shape Sienna's boobs make on canvas, then get yourself a dinner invite to hers...
"I've got rooms covered in t*ts after going back to doing what I do best - getting naked," she cheekily revealed.

Ugh...this is sooooo far from being right. (No offense to you fashionologie) The real person who did the breast paintings was/is Brigid Berlin (who is still alive and actually worked with Sienna to get down some Edie-isms). Those pics on the set were kind of a letdown but I'm guessing Sienna wasn't in full Edie hair/makeup. She's got the skinny part down pat though! I'm trying to convince myself that the only reason Sienna isn't looking at all like Edie is because I've only seen black & white and 60s color photos of Edie so seeing someone in 'real' life won't really compare to what she really looked like. I'm trying to be optimistic here.

Yeah, I still don't think she resembles Edie either...
And is anyone else having a real issue with these boots? They don't look like they're from that time at all, and instead look like cheap modern knock-offs... I hope Sienna's just wearing them around and they're not for filming. I feel the outfit there could have been better chosen as well... but maybe I'm being too critical...

^ I am totally with you on that... and that dress is sooo boring! atleast from the front! and too long...

but I guess we jut have to wait and see... it might just become a good movie, maybe not like we would have wanted it to be...
they should have just done a movie inspired by Edies life, not a movie that is supposed to be about her life, thereīs just too much!

Who on here was talking about Ultra Violet's book, and how there is a whole chapter about Edie in it? I have a question about it.....

I read this book written by Andy Warhol called The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (from A to B and back again) & he talks about this girl "taxi" which i'm sure is Edie, saying she was from south carolina, was tiny, was bulimic, invented the mini skirt because she would save money by buying little girl's skirts & was the first to wear black tights are part of an outfit, used to hoard bra's and drugs and had a relationship with a famous singer( Bob Dylan), it's like a whole 4 pages about her, it was intresting.

She never will look like Edie, no matter how dark she makes her eyebrows or how much make up she wears or how much weight she loses. Edie had a round baby face and Sienna has a sharp skinny face. Sienna's body type is completely different than Edie's.

I'm not as much concerned about the fact that Sienna doesn't look liek her as much as i am about how they will portray the Factory scene and if they're facts will be straight. They're already giving Bob Dylan way to big of a part concidering no ones even sure that they did have a relationship.

But since Edie's husband and Bridget are so involved it will most likely be better than we expect.

i just finished reading the biography (edie: an american biog...) and someone said i would cry like a grandma and that much was true - but the thing that struck me most was the picture of her tombstone in which the engravings were: 'edith sedgwick post, wife of micheal post' and then date of birth and death. i jsut thought that so didnt fit who she was - married to this guy like six months and her inscription was about who her husband was - not about anykind of life that she had led. i sound like a raging feminist here but he wasnt even that large a part of her life, or what she was remembered for so it jsut seemed sad she would be remembered in this way.
