Hedy is extremely beautiful, but seeing these pictures reminded me of her aesthetic limitations. Her features themselves are near perfect, but the base they sit upon is not. In particular, her forehead is too small (narrow, short and recessive) in comparison to her cheeks, and her face is a bit round for my liking, lending her an unfortunate triteness that undermines her classic beauty and sophistication. Her eyes are also a bit small, droopy and common. Plus they're set too low on her brow. Finally, her features aren't very distinctive.
You can really see the short forehead and round face here:

This picture is absolutely gorgeous, though:

What a great thread. I always thought Hedy Lamarr and Vivien Leigh looked alike also although I preferred Hedy's looks more because her mouth was more luscious. Vivien had the pursed mouth going.
Even though Vivien was a better actress than Hedy, Hedy was the more intelligent woman IRL and had a happier life which is better IMO.
Great thread, so many amazing pictures! and Hedy was certainly one of the more impressive personalities out of her generation of actresses, and so beautiful
She is gorgeous, just stunning. I havn't seen any of her movies. Can anyone suggest any good ones?
I haven't seen very many of Hedy Lamarr's films but I quite like her in:
Come Live With Me (1941)
Ziegfeld Girl (1941)
Her Highness and the Bellboy (1945)
Samson and Delilah (1949)
