I just went in and recoded all the first page so that a new person here will see lovely pictures rather than links- they were not viewable before- and I removed dead links which a poster had uploaded to Photobucket and none are available to see, in case anyone wondered why the thread shrunk a page
![]() Here are a few shots from one of my favorite Natalie films Tennessee Williams' "This Property is Condemned" with Robert Redford I love this film so much...I grew up on Tennessee Williams and she breaks my heart in this and looks so gorgeous to boot ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (all from Natalie Wood:Splendor site) The scenes where she argues with her mother ring so true in light of her own fractious relationship with her real-life smothering mother...her acting is top-notch here.

^ gorgeous Josephine! Thank you.
Here are some lovely ones I saw and wanted to share: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (nataliewood.co.uk) One thing to note is how she is always seen wearing a close-fitting bangle on her left wrist. According to the bio Natasha, this is because as a child and during the filming of "The Green Promise", her mother tricked her into doing a dangerous stunt which left her with a broken wrist and almost drowning. To keep in good with the studio, her mother did not report it and never took Natalie to a doctor to get it set properly. The rest of her life, she was very self-conscious of her misshapen wrist bone and tried to always wear a bangle over it.

Thanks for posting those pictures Orchide. They are beautiful. I heard that story about Natalie's wrist too and now when I watch Natalie Wood's film or see photos of her I always notice she wear a bangle or some sort of bracelet on her left wrist.

Elia Kazan talked her into not wearing the bracelet in the bathtub scene in 'Splendor in the Grass". It is one of the few times when Natalie's left wrist is exposed to the camera. I got that tidbit in the Natasha bio as well
![]() The book says," the combination of Kazan's wizardry, Natalie's emotional connection to the mother/daughter conflict in the scene, the panic of dousing her head underwater, and the vulnerability she felt at being seen "naked"- without her "magic" bracelet- produced a hysteria in Natalie that may be her most powerful moment as an actress".

I'll have to watch Splendor in the Grass again to catch that scene.

I am sure he maybe did not linger on it or focus on her wrist as she was so sensitive about it and I am sure she tried to keep it out of sight...he just didn't think a bracelet was appropriate to the scene and also knew it would help to get Natalie to a more vulnerable place mentally
![]() Here are some more from "This Property is Condemned" I am from New Orleans so I love the romantic portrayal of the south and of the city, Tennessee's writing and the gorgeous pairing of Natalie with Robert. lobby cards: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() on set: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (nataliewoodonline.com)
