keroppi, Waterloo Bridge is fantastic. It is one of my favourite romance films. It is a beautiful yet very sad story. Vivien Leigh and Robert Taylor make such a beautiful couple in the film.

vivien leigh is easily the most beautiful and charming and INSANE (in the "i mean that with admiration and adoration" kind of way).... BUT.... does anyone else think that christina aguilera-- when make up'd and done up and un-bronzed-- kind of looks like her?

She trully is (was?) one of the most genuinely elegant and lady-like actresses.
Not to mention beautiful.

I've actually only seen her in Gone With the Wind and A Streetcar Named Desire.
What else would you recommend?

I swear I cried like a baby when the movie ended. It was so hauntingly beautiful and tragic at the same time...it's one of those movies that lingers on with you even after it's ended.

Definitely one of my favourites now. Vivien Leigh and Robert Taylor are heaven .

sunshine daisy - Try to catch Waterloo Bridge!! Vivien took a very daring role here. Brilliant and versatile actress, she was.

Emil - I think Waterloo Bridge DVD hasn't been released yet in the US, but my DVD is imported from China. Heard that Waterloo Bridge one of the most famous classic films in China. Well, I don't blame them

Hmm, I'm not really familiar with her other movies besides GWTW, Waterloo and Streetcar...sorry for not being such a help.

Is it just me or does she look like Queen Elizabeth on this picture?:

I've read that Waterloo Bridge is Vivien Leigh's favourite film among those she was in.

I haven't watched very many of Vivien Leigh's film and she was in so few films too (only 14). I have heard that That Hamilton Woman and Ship of Fools are good Vivien Leigh films. Even though she only has a very small role in the film I thought she was just gorgeous in A Yank at Oxford. 21 Days is also good to watch the chemistry between her and Laurence Olivier. Caesar and Cleopatra isn't one of my favourite Vivien Leigh films but I think it is interesting to watch her characterisation of Cleopatra. She plays Cleopatra so you see this transformation of a timid child to a powerful queen.

I actually found Caeser and Cleopatra at my local video shop. They have a pretty good selection of classic DVDs to rent. The costumes were good especially Vivien Leigh's. The movie was ok, not one of my favourite Vivien Leigh films but I'm just one of those fans that just has to see every movie she was in!
