With reference to the poster who said Nina B was half Chinese half Russian and to the poster who said Juliana Imai was half Japanese half Brasilian -this doesn't make sense. Brasilian and Russian aren't ethnicities. You can be pure Japanese and be Brasilian -there are a lot of Japanese in Brasil. You can be Chinese and live in Russia -the more east you go in Russia, the more Chinese people look. There were a lot of orientals in Moscow and St Petersburg even though they are west. These people are Russian for many many many generations.

Same goes for American, Australian, whatever. The Time article on the previous page actually called Devon Aoki a "concoction"... Anyway sorry to harp on it but would someone please merge the two threads and call it "multiethnic" or "multiracial" models to at least minimize confusion and argument? ![]() Edit: Oh, Hi again Bleu! I see what you mean about Nina, I think it makes sense if we're discussing her parents' nationalities...but I think Sienna is saying it doesnt make sense to call her Eurasian...what this thread is about, as it were...because like you say, she's a) from Israel, and b)her parents' nationalities say little about her ethnicity. My first post--obviously haven't figured out how to format a url from an image hosting site so that it shows up as a thumbnail, but this is a wonderful topic and one I wanted to add to. The ethnicity of the model/actress in question either their website of one devoted to them. This doesn't include a few of the most obvious ones, like Keanu Reeves and the Tilly sisters (Meg and Jennifer)

And when I meant that separated Africans was racist, I was referring to the colonial times when Europe would use division and differences to divide and conquer people. And then there is the whole "claiming the Egyptians weren't black" thing. But you didn't catch that did you? Judging by your post, no. Please, re-read my posts before you go jumping all over me. India and Pakistan are consider M.E. I was arguing that they shouldn't be mixed togehter along with Eastern Asians because of their difference. Again, you misinterpret my posts, but whatever. P.S. Eurasian is too broad of a term to use. At least in my opinion. Btw, we should stick with countries AND culture. Not just clump one continent together and say that is that.

I think you are taking it the wrong way saying you are being "lumped" with any group. Yes, it is a broad term, and it's meant to be! Think about it, we can all be defined in broad terms. Is that bad? I don't think so. At least it doesn't offend me - it shouldn't offend anyone who's not ashamed where they come from (and no one should be). I am from Earth, i'm North American, American, Caucasian, British, French, Dutch, Cherokee blah blah blah - from general to specific, you can call me anything and i won't mind. Just don't call me George.
