The fan favorites on the website doesn't take into account people who are into models and stuff. Stephanie is in the lead then Margaux then Zhillin then Devyn. I don't think Stephanie is model material, Margaux is very attractive and has a nice body, Zhilin and Devyn have a real chance as working models.

Devyn reminds me a little of Rihanna. they have similar mannerisms and attitudes. i think she's got a look that could be easily marketable for a model. she should be able to have a profitable career, for sure.

Stephanie, to me, is the one that has that "it" factor. she just has it. she LOOKS to me like a great model and her personality is great. the unfortunate part is that she's just so entirely inexperienced that she's really not on a level. it's hard to consider her a professional when she really has no idea what she's doing.

What is/are the prizes again?

I've only read about an Ulta advertisement. I don't see the point in putting the girls through so many challenges that are irrelevant to beauty print modeling. At the end of the day, the girl who is last standing in the competition just needs to have whatever Ulta is looking for at the moment. Ulta isn't the type of client that is demanding in skill set and prestige...I feel like the "mentoring" would be more relevant if an agency contract and beauty/fragrance contract was the prize.

There are so many successful models who only do beauty and commercial print but never do runway and don't have the skills for it. Then there are also successful models who only do beauty and runway but not much print etc.

I think Ulta is it... hopefully in their 2nd season they can get better prizes.

I don't think Stephanie is the next high fashion versatile bombshell model, but she has a lot of potential. I think her look could go high-end commercial if she had more experience, but right now I think if photographed right, she'd fit right in for Ulta Beauty too.

Devyn at 6'2" is like a Donyale Luna. I take it back and say that Stephanie is good for a beauty campaign but really a full fledged modeling career? She's attractive enough to be an actress who models and not a model who acts.

I just saw this preview for this coming week and the reason why Zhilin might not win is because she' the only one who can't speak English, and that might be a problem during interviews and speaking engagements.

Stephanie definitely has an actress look but there's also something interesting about her face.

The part I don't understand is that all these girls have such different looks. All the Ulta ads I've seen, they use very very girl next door looking models as that's their target demographic.

But in this competition they have Devyn who is giving me Sessilee Lopez feelings. They have Zhi Lin who is an elegant, sensual fierce type. Margaux is edgy, quirky, tomboy. Stephanie is actress-y, sunny, girl next door. Ebony is exotic, fierce and strong. Jocelyn is ethnically ambiguous, exotic, sexy.

Surely, Ulta should know whose look fits their brand image the best as it's not like they're choosing from 15 girls with the same thing going on and have to figure out who has the best skills.

Thats what annoys me about her. It's this "oh I didnt know" excuse. Well gurl, it's a modeling competition...do your homework, it ain't rocket science.

TBH IDK whether to think of this competition as a long, drawn-out casting for Ulta, or just a way for Ulta to pander to one of the supermodel coaches.

Sandra's freak-outs make her totally unlikable. It's a shame her own personality will probably get her eliminated when she could be a good model. I can't wait to see what happens with her in tonight's episode! The preview made it seem like stuff was gonna go down.

Stephanie is pretty but she is so beyond awkward. She did good on the runway but in photoshoots I cringe watching.

I love Naomi but she's bitter and the way she retweets all the hate to Margaux is really immature.

Margaux twitter feed, apparently feuding about how they're all signed models and the face really isn't their first modeling experience.

^^I'm surprised by both sides!

I think it's a little bit wrong for Naomi to generalize that if someone hasn't been signed yet then there is something wrong with them. Marie Pioveson and Saskia de Brauw are examples of women who were only signed into their late 20's and found success. Surely there is nothing wrong with them. I think they just found the right timing.

However, it does make me wonder about these contestants. Ulta is considered a low booking...it's definitely not as competitive nor lucrative of a booking as say Sephora, Bobbi Brown, Clarins, Pantene, John Frieda, Avon etc. It's on similar ranks as the ads for NYX, Wet n Wild, Milani. It just makes me wonder why a signed model would venture as far as going on a reality show to cast for an Ulta ad. It would make sense if the prize was a Maybelline contract or a VS contract--I can see agency models considering going on a reality show for that.
