Heroin chic was a "style/phase" in the early 90s of skinny, pale, bony girls with bedhead hair, dark, smokey rings around the eyes, vacant look...very unhealthy, but sexy.

James king was a heroin addict, which is a kind of sick irony. But i think some of the heroin chic style was amazing like most people have said. Reading that certain designers were inspired by trainspotting is interesing. Heroin chic has that same appeal as the whole rock chic or when people use vampires and stuff as inspiration... i think anyway. There is a glamorous side and i think has a lot to do with youth and rebellion...
but i do think it is bad to put a form of positivity behind drugs use. But i just dont feel its like that with heroin chic. It really doesnt encourage the use of heroin, heroin is such a subcultural drug and is notorious its not the same as cocaine. I remember watching trainspotting and i've read the book, heroin terrifies me. But i still love the heroin chic images.

Not that I can think of, I think that might have to do with the fact that in general, black and latin women tend to be more curvacious....the heroin chic look was the total opposite of curves. That's just my guess though.

I think its kind of about finding the beauty in these stunning models when they are made to look as bad as they possibly can... its kinda creepy but intriguing
im not very articulated, so what i said may seem contradictory, but what i mean is i dont think the heroin chic images ( the ones ive seen) actually have anything to do with heroin other than their label.
