so The Society finally posted girls they signed today, Lieve Dannau- former ck exclusive, Josephine Le Tutuor- won elite France 2011, Marilhea Peillard who just won Elite Look last month from France and Pauline Hoarau-girls without ny representation and have won Elite model contests in their own country. there were a lot of Elite Paris girls who had exclusives last season so I would think a lot will turn up at The Society. An unusual signing is Jasmine Sanders, a more commercial girl with vision who dated Ice T son.

Does anyone know if Elite Paris still affiliated or feeding girls to Elite ny or is that relationship severed and they will go to the Society?

Kab348^ where did you get these model names from? Their website is not up yet. As for Jasmine Sanders I don't personally think that's an unusual signing at all, she's gorgeous! Has some cool potential, but either way they need to make money and sign more than just fashion girls.

No, you didn't miss much I think. They had a girl in common every now and then, that's about all.

This just happened to Ten Model Management's website. Why would they care about an agency in Brazil is what I'm wondering.

Lindsey Wixson and Mackenzie Drazan are not on Marilyn ny anymore. I don't understand why Society can poach so many girls who would have contracts without repercussions. I hope Marilyn wins the Constance lawsuit and shame on Society hiring so many Marilyn people and now models for hurting Marilyn like this.

Marilyn sold the agency to an investor who is running the company in a way that the people who worked so hard to make it what it is, don't believe in. It was good timing with Elite needing to staff Society and the Marilyn team feeling unhappy and abandoned there.

So in the case of models leaving Marilyn, is it still considered poaching if the team responsible for their stardom moves to a different agency?

I wonder what will happen with Marilyn. The old team did an amazing job creating a board of uniquely sexy crossover models. It used to be the only agency in nyc known to "play fair" and was very picky...and those red portfolios!

I think it is poaching if you are under contract and leave even if it is to join the team that started you.

In a few short years, IMG, Women, Next and Society will dominate the New York scene and everyone else will be irrelevant. They might become like Wilhelmina, very profitable with its catalogue and commercial business but non-existent on the HF scene.
That's because those four are the only ones with global networks. Everyone else depends on associations with agencies in other places. The problem is that those associations change and break down and when they do, the pipeline for new talent dries up. Women was a nice boutique agency, but once it set up offices in Paris and Milan, it became a powerhouse. So many of their girls in NY were discovered or developed by their Paris/Milan offices. Society has the Elite network in Europe, of course, so it already has a jumpstart and by this time next year it will have many of the top working girls.
Even DNA, unless it creates offices in Paris and elsewhere will, be reduced to a second tier agency. It's no surprise they've gone on a poaching rampage lately and hiring bookers from Marilyn and I'm guessing from Ford based on how many former Ford girls have moved there recently. DNA sees what's coming and trying to prepare for it. We may also see some of these other agencies consolidating. It will be an interesting few years.

.
networking is hardly new concept, Elite created it successfully in the 70's Ford was good at it too at that time...

still at moment it failed, and it did because "in theory" it sounds the perfect solution, but from management point of view world networking is always borderline to a big issue . it can only work and last if there is 1 leader above all the network, and a very very strong one that everybody will follow no matter if working in Paris, milan or NY.
If not, it rarely work as if one year milan it works less good, quikcly there will be people in Paris telling "why the hell we have to work with these loosers", or a booker in Paus will fight for a world client with a booker of "his agency in NY...

to make a network is easy, to make it work and to make it last is a management huge challenge. so far only two really work, IMG and women,, IMG because they succeeded to put a very "american" management in all their office, and Women, caus there is a crazy old fashion king leading it who scare anyone wanted to open mouth in his network

I 100% agree with you on this.

The Society might not have anything to do with this, there is a possibility of DNA too..
